Hey there, I'm Jason. A husband, father, Laravel enthusiast, living in Virginia. I'm also a mechanical keyboard enthusiast; I love to build different kinds of keyboards, with all different types of switches. Sometimes, you can catch me on Twitch streaming the keyboard builds. I love working on projects that solve an itch, an issue, or something that is just painful to continue to do manually. Most of my development has been for personal, or work related adventures, though I'm hoping to change that and get into the OSS, and release some things to the public.
I'm a big technology guru, that enjoys networking, macOS, and Linux. I'm always looking to learn anything and everything that I can, including setting up my home network, running PFSense, Cisco Switches, and monitoring all devices and network using SNMP.
Google and DuckDuckGo, are all good search engines. However, a good buddy of mine and I wanted something a bit more private and privacy-focused. We found SearXNG and how it was open source and it was a meta-search engine. So I quickly got up a hosting plan with Linode and got it up and running. It's the no logs, no bullshit, privacy-focused search engine.
Lately, I've been working on re-theming it, It's a long process, but once I have it fully skinned I will look deeper into the coding of it to see if I can optimize the customizations that I have done a bit better and continue to provide it free/opensource for others to use a themes.
Alfred Bot, just like BreakDaddy, was an application that was made for the same company as Break Daddy that would assist supervisors in their daily activities. When all of your communications is going through Slack, I always had the thought that it would be best to never have to leave this application if you didn't have to.
So what if you could just do some slash commands and fill out a modal, and it would insert the data into a Google Drive Doc, or Google Drive Sheet, etc. Which this is exactly what the application was made to do, built using Laravel, Slack API, and Google Docs. A custom slack driver was developed to allow the modal creation, and attachments were changed out to be messages built with the blocks.
An application that was built using Laravel, Vuejs, Moment.js, and using the Slack API. It allowed a company to automate their breaks to ensure that the supervisors were free to do what they needed to do. E.g.: paperwork, speaking with agents, etc. As I no longer work with the company the code has been archived and remains closed source, and owned by that company.
